• The Toledo Hospital is the largest acute-care facility in the region. Serving a 27-county area in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, the 400 (staffed) bed hospital has more than 4,800 professional health care employees. Patients at The Toledo Hospital have access to the area's largest board-certified medical staff, comprised of more than 1,000 primary care and specialty physicians.
• The Toledo Hospital is part of ProMedica Health System, based in Toledo.ProMedica is an integrated delivery system consisting of acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, a large physician group, insurance companies, and ancillary health services.
• As a Level I Trauma Center, The Toledo Hospital is a designated resource for the highest level of trauma care for patients of all ages, providing 24-hour, in-house coverage by general surgeons and fast availability of specialists.
• 24-hour, in-house coverage and prompt availability of specialists includes pediatricians, pediatric and adult critical care specialists; as well as strong support from obstetrics, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, and radiology.
• The Toledo Hospital treated 81,000 patients in 2008, more than one-third of the area's emergency visits in a new 44,000-square-foot Emergency Center.
• The Toledo Hospital is distinguished by its leadership position in Women's, Heart, Vascular, and orthopedic services.The hospital has a strong compliment of cutting edge medical technologies including e-ICU.
• Toledo Children's Hospital, is a hospital within the hospital and staffs an additional 100 beds including the regions leading neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
• The Toledo Hospital is a Level IIIPerinatal Center and provides comprehensive care for high-risk mothers and newborns.Nearly half of the regions births are at The Toledo Hospital.

 

Hospitalist Program Profile

• The Hospitalist Team provides on-site services 24/7 within The Toledo Hospital.
• Each full time hospitalist will provide up to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month consisting of approximately 12 and eight-hour shifts.
• The Hospitalist Team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge.
• The Hospitalist team will coordinate admissions for general medical patients who are referred from regional hospitals throughout NW Ohio and SE Michigan.
