Samaritan Regional Health Systems or SRHS, as affectionately coined by the community, is a 110 bed acute care facility conveniently located between two of Ohio's largest cities, Cleveland and Columbus.
Our physicians are an essential part of our healthcare delivery team, with 117 MD and DO practitioners on staff. Most are local residents with independent practices focused on serving the community.
Our diagnostic equipment includes MRI, an advanced nuclear medicine camera, a 16-slice (multislice) CT scanner, and a low-risk adult heart catheterization lab. In 2007, we embarked on our latest and most extensive Capital Campaign since the early 1970's. We celebrated 2009 with the completion of the first phase of our aggressive remodeling vision, opening our new, patient focused Emergency Department that is now the envy of others, and equipped to care for some 40,000 patients a year, compared to the old capacity of 28,000.
With our next project, we hope to directly impact the nearly 40% of local birthing mothers who feel they need to travel elsewhere to realize their dream birthing experience, The new Women's and Birthing Unit will feature large LDRP rooms, which stand for labor, delivery, recovery and post partum; a viewing nursery; an Operating Suite for C-Sections; and roof-top planetarium. The larger rooms encompass a holistic approach to the birthing experience, allowing the entire family to celebrate the miracle of life.
Our physicians will be directly involved with the planning of the two final projects, which include the expansion and remodel of the ICU and Medical/Surgical Units.
Physicians are active in leadership roles throughout the Hospital. They are involved in Samaritan's Strategic Planning and operational processes as members of the Board and hospital/medical staff leadership committees. Physicians participate in local and national initiatives for performance. Many of them are very active in our community.
