Hospital Profile

  • Select Specialty Hospital-Winston-Salem is a 42-bed (LTACH) hospital. The hospital specializes in the treatment of the most critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
  • Located on the sixth floor of Forsyth Hospital, the facility is dedicated to the treatment of chronic acute care patients who generally stay beyond 25 days.
  • Located in Forsyth Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital is managed as a separate entity by Pennsylvania-based Select Medical Corp. The facility has its own pharmacy, physical therapy and registration process.

Hospitalist Program Profile

  • The Hospitalist Team of two full-time physicians will be on site 8-12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each full time hospitalist will provide 168 to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month consisting of 12 and eight hour shifts. On call at night with no admissions expected.
  • While on site, the hospitalist team provides service response for codes. In addition, the hospitalist team provides service response for consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, and procedures.
