Hospitalist Program Profile

• The Hospitalist Program has earned the respect and support of the Administration, Medical Staff and Nursing Staff.
• The Hospitalist Team provides on-site services 24/7 at MedCentral Hospital. Physician scheduling is democratic based on physician input each month. Day shifts are generally 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. (triple coverage) and schedule consists of four to seven days on and four to seven days off. Each full time hospitalist will provide up to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month consisting of approximately 12 and eight hour shifts.
• The Hospitalist Team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, ICU procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge.
• Dedicated social worker/case manager and discharge summary nurse to facilitate efficient treatment.
• Hospitalist census includes an average of four-eight patient admissions per day.
• Dedicated office space for the Hospitalist Team.
• Transcription service is available 24/7 with a three-hour turnaround.
