Hospitalist Program Profile

  • The Hospitalist Team of four to five full and part time physicians will be on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Day shifts are generally 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., night shifts 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and scheduling consists of four to seven days on and four to seven days off. Each full time hospitalist will provide up to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month consisting of 12 and eight-hour shifts.
  • A full-time Mid Level Provider will support the hospitalist team, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • The Hospitalist Team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, ICU procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge.

  • The proximity to I-85 places Lexington within an hour of major population centers such as Charlotte, High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and two hours from Research Triangle Park. Commercial flight options are within an hours drive at Charlotte-Douglas International, Piedmont Triad International, and an hour and a half from Raleigh-Durham International airports. The Davidson County Airport can accommodate your private travel needs as well as Amtrak who services this region.
  • Lexington has four public High Schools with a total of 3,900 students. North Davidson Senior High has 1,403 students with Central Davidson Senior High at 940 students. Lexington Senior High 790 students, and West Davidson High 764 students. Lexington also has three private schools; Sheets Memorial Christian, grades PK-12, Union Grove Christian School, PK-12, and Davidson Academy, K-8. There are several public and private Primary/Middle schools in Lexington.
