Gaylord Hospital is a 137-bed long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) that specializes in managing the complex medical care and rehabilitation of patients with multiple acute health care needs. A patient's average length of stay is 25-30 days.

The medical division consists of the medically complex program for patients who require multidisciplinary medical services after an acute hospital stay, ventilator care program and pulmonary program. Conditions treated include chronic respiratory failure with ventilator weaning, severe COPD, post operative complications, complicated wounds, post transplant care, complicated pneumonia, pulmonary edema and CHF, sepsis, multi-system/organ failure, and sepsis.

The rehabilitation division serves those with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, complicated strokes, neurological diseases and complicated orthopedic cases.

Gaylord Hospital is equipped to manage patients' care with four critical care beds, cardiac monitoring, ventilator weaning, bariatric rooms, positive and negative pressure rooms.
